Dance StudioRe-enrollment is the most important metric for the success of most dance or music studios.

Consider this:

  1. You don't have an unlimited budget for marketing
  2. You don't have unlimited time to spend on marketing
  3. A well planned and executed marketing strategy might get you 30% new students each session (except in the recent economy!)

30% growth sounds good, right? Well what about the 40% who decided not to re-enroll? Doesn't sound like a good business plan any more...

Fortunately, it is reasonable to get 80% re-enrollment or retention, more if you work at it little. It starts with customer service, and includes making life easy for your customers at re-enrollment time (online registration for example).

And getting that 80% re-enrollment is going to be so critical to your business growth, you better be tracking it like a hawk!

In a larger studio with multiple teachers teaching multiple types of class, you will also want to see where your re-enrollment weak points are. Is there a teacher who needs some coaching on the little things that drive re-enrollment? Is there a curriculum that just does not excite students to come back for more?

So when you put your processes together, and select an enrollment management system, make sure you can get the statistics you need. YourVirtuoso, for example, provides an enrollment report comparing sessions, with % re-enrollment by teacher and curriculum and overall.
