Last week I took a look at the question of when dance and music studio customers want to enroll. It turned out that about 17% of them, given the option to register online, do so at the weekend when your music or dance studio probably has no phone coverage.

Not a staggering issue for those who have not embraced online registration, but it turns out to be only half the story (much less than half actually).

The real benefit of of the constant availability of online registration comes not from the days of the week, but from the hours in the day.

Take a look at this chart:

Online Registration by Hour resized 600

Unless you want to outsource (Ugh) your phone answering to India, you are probably not going to be covering those 2:00AM customers, and what's more, they probably won't even call. So they will just wait until the next day, and you better hope that the impulse is still there, and that they do not get distracted in the mean time!

What does it all mean? Well, if you combine last weeks stats with these, it means that if you do not have online registration implemented, more than half your prospective customers (54% actually) will not be able to enroll when they want to.

Just how significant this is for your studio is going to depend if you are running at capacity and turning customers away, or, like most of us, you are very interested in filling those classes and scheduling more lessons.
